Profile:

Prof. Dharmawardana has a Ph.D. from the School of Physics and Chemistry, Cambridge University, Corpus Christi College, U. K. He has served as a lecturer at the Colombo University, a visiting lecturer at the Peradeniya University, and as a Professor at the Vidyodyay University (now Sri Jayawardana Pura University), where he served as the Vice Chancellor from 1974 to 1975.

He also worked at the Faculte de Science, Orsay, University of Paris, France and at the French Atomic Energy commission. He is on the advisory committees of a number of international bodies. He was employed as a Principal Research Scientist at the National Research Council of Canada, Ottawa, Canada, and holds a position as a Professor of physics at the University Of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Profile: 

Mrs. Karunaratne holds a B.A. from Jayawardenapura University, Sri Lanka, and a M.A. in Public Administration, from Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. As a civil servant in the Sri Lankan government, she has held a number of senior administrative positions, including Director General of Budgets, Director General of Customs, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Plantation, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Women's Affairs, and Ministry of Petroleum. 

After officially retiring from the civil service, she assumed the duties as the chairperson of the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM). Currently, she is serving as a member of the Public Service Commission of Sri Lanka.
